Words of congratulation from Sir David Attenborough

Brian George, our resident Bird Watch reporter, was delighted recently to receive a letter of congratulation from none other than Sir David Attenborough.

Hoar Cross Nursing Home staff members, Vicky Spark and Emily King, had emailed Sir David to tell him all about Brian’s life long passion for birding, and it was a lovely surprise for us all when a hand written reply from Sir David arrived in response.

Brian was overwhelmed that Sir David had taken the time to write congratulating him on his bird reports and and his expert talks to the residents here.

Taking full advantage of the inspiring bird watching opportunities provided by Hoar Cross’s extensive grounds and woodland, Brian spent the latter months of 2020 putting the finishing touches to his latest publication ‘Searching – Autobiography of a birder‘ which chronicles his fascinating birding career.

Brian has now returned to his own home, but Sir David’s letter has been framed and presented to Brian at his home where it can take pride of place for him to enjoy.
