Hidden talents
Hidden talents were recognised when a baby grand piano was donated to Hoar Cross from our sister nursing home, Prospect House in Malpas. Resident, Rennie Whettan, aged 94 years has been able to play the piano again after many years.

Rennie came from a musical family where her mother, Lydia, brother Clarence and sister Kathleen all played the piano.
Rennie’s husband, Ron had a lovely singing voice and was a member of the Burton Operatic Society.
Their daughter, Rachel remembers lying in bed as a child and hearing Rennie accompanying him as he sang pop songs from the 40s, 50s. Ron also sang for the Swadlincote Blind Association.
“We are delighted to have been instrumental in giving Rennie this opportunity to give herself, and us, so much pleasure”.
