Our Care

Nursing Care: the utmost in professionalism

We have a team of fully qualified nursing staff providing care 24 hours a day. Kathy Cleaver is our Care Home Manager. Having qualified more than twenty years ago, Kathy has enormous experience in caring for the elderly.

Supporting Kathy is a team of well-trained and motivated nurses and carers, closely supervised and continuously trained. We provide a high level of care backed up by professional medical support from our retained GP.

The relationship between a carer and a resident goes beyond helping with washing, feeding and use of the bathroom facilities. Kathy and the team understand that the secret of good care is warm relationships built on understanding and respect. Read more about Kathy’s philosophy of care on our staff page .

An individual care programme is prepared by our Care Team for each resident on admission. This is a detailed plan of medical needs, as well as the personal and social care needed. All programmes are designed to protect residents’ privacy and dignity at all times.

Disabled Care for younger residents

The Nursing home is fully equipped and easily accessible for the use of young disabled people who require residential or respite care.

Our trained staff members assist with each resident’s specialist needs. We take great pride in making Hoar Cross an environment where visitors and guests are able to mix and socialize with other residents of the same age. This creates a warm, friendly environment that makes the residential experience that much more enjoyable.

Elderly Care: friendship, dignity and respect

Hoar Cross is very quiet and peaceful, offering elderly people who require nursing care a wonderful, relaxing environment.

We can provide residential care with the back up of our nursing facilities if it is required. Above all, we strive to provide a place of warmth and openness in times of need.

We also strongly believe in helping elderly residents to live as full lives as possible. Medical evidence shows that staying active and independent is a very important part of caring as we age. With this in mind we strive to provide as many facilities as possible. Routines and activities are designed to be flexible to suit individual needs, wishes and expectations.

Dementia Care: to support families

Dementiia Care is provided to help support families when they are in need of assistance and can no longer look after their loved ones at home.

At Hoar Cross we recognise the difficulties dementia can cause and we help and support families through this difficult time.

Respite Care: a well-earned break

Respite or intermediate care provides 24-hour care on a temporary basis. It is provided for those requiring short-term care away from home.

If you or one of your family members requires care and support in the home, but does not need full-time care, this can be a great way of giving everyone involved a break and a well-earned rest. Respite care often takes place during long periods of illness, disability or convalescence from hospital treatment.

A period of respite care can be as little as one week or last for several weeks, depending on medical and nursing needs. We’re very open and flexible, and always happy to discuss your or your love one's needs.
